Information

This project has been created to preserve the stories of our World War II veterans. The website is a home for these stories and a place of reference for friends, family and anyone intrigued by the memories of the men and women who served during World War II. The sole purpose of this project is to inform, preserve and discover. All veterans recounting their stories on this website did so on their own account.

About the author:

Stephanie Veto is a freelance multimedia journalist and journalism instructor in Columbia, Mo. She started this project in 2010 after spending the day with WWII veterans during an Honor Flight trip to Washington, D.C. She quickly learned how important every veteran's story is and how important it is to document them. Stephanie has made it a personal goal preserve stories wherever she goes.

The Library of Congress's Veteran's History Project, as well as many state and cities have developed excellent programs for veterans to tell their stories. For more amazing stories, please be sure to visit those websites.
